Coccidia Parasites in Swine
Intensive livestock production permits infections such as piglet coccidiosis, caused by Isospora suis, to break out of their ecological niches and become overwhelming problems.
Isospora suis is a parasite that is ubiquitous wherever piglets are held. It has gained in clinical and economic importance with increasing recognition that it is the major cause of diarrhoea in suckling pigs.
